2026 Summer Internship Information

Carmel Area Wastewater District (CAWD) is thrilled to announce our third year partnering with Carmel Unified School District (CUSD) on our internship program. Interns will participate in a three-week program rotating among departments, learning how each operates, developing real-world skills, and gaining an understanding of how special districts work.

Open House Date: 

March 18, 2026 - 5:00 PM

All applicants must attend the open house

Important Dates: 

 Who: Any student over the age of 16 with a 2.5 GPA or better

• When: June 9-26, 2026
• Where: Carmel Area Wastewater District - Plant
• Days: Monday - Thursday
• Hours: 3.5 hours/day - 
• Paid: $16.90/hour or accrue Service Learning Hours

• All applications are to be submitted to HR User

 Summer Internships: 

Students may select between paid or service learning hours (volunteer hours). Internships are offered for youth entering 11th and 12th grade.  The slected interns will  have the opportunity to complete the application  process and participate in  a job interview and the onboarding process.
