Capital Improvement Program 15-year Master Plan
In 2012, the District retained Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, (Kennedy/Jenks) to conduct an asset management study and develop recommendations for capital improvements for the next 15 years. Kennedy/Jenks conducted a condition survey of the assets at the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), and developed an asset database to document and analyze the condition and risk of failure of the assets at the WWTP. It was apparent from the survey results that many assets needed to be upgraded due to risk of failure and impacts to system reliability. CAWD is using the asset management program developed by Kennedy/Jenks to guide implementation of maintenance activities and capital improvement projects to maintain reliability of the treatment processes.
